HOW TO SLEEP BETTER AND GET A GOOD QUALITY SLEEP?

Alright, So because of lock down and work from home we all have been staying late night binge watching series and just not able to sleep even if we want to right?

Every ones sleeping cycle has been disturbed some way or the other and it makes us lousy for most of the day. So melatonin is a hormone which is responsible for our sleep at night. Lets get into some science to understand better.

It is synthesized in the pineal gland which is in the brain. It synchronize our sleep cycle like darkness lead to the the production of melatonin, in simple words, production of melatonin starts at evening because darkness starts to take place and melatonin is at the peak in night. So we feel sleepy during the night. So it is usually called sleep-wake cycle.

Melatonin tells our body "you can rest now" at night and in the morning it tell us to wake up, and melatonin is the reason you drift off and wake up at the same time without any alarm clock.

So people usually opt for melatonin supplements for better sleep but melatonin is naturally produced in our body and our habits effects the sleep cycle.

So how to increase melatonin (sleep hormone) naturally for better sleep?

There is no magic but oats are high in melatonin which can be eaten to get a good quality sleep. As oats are complex carbs it will give you good night sleep. Mostly people are sleep deprived because of stress so high stress is equal to less sleep and low stress is equal to more sleep.

Oats is delicious and also it is complex carbs. You can eat oats either as savory dish or sweet dish and also one can eat at the dinner time as a replacement to rice.

I will give you a quick delicious dish of oats:

Take 60-70gms of oats and add some milk, bit of sugar and add spoon full of cinnamon powder and 2-3 drops of vanilla essence  and cook it for 7-8 mins and you are good to go.

You will get a good hit of sleep thats for sure and let me know in the comment about how it felt. Cheers!!

So without any doubt everyone wants to lose weight fast but there is a other side to it. The slower way will include less sacrifices and comparatively less efforts and vice versa. In the slow process you have to cut calories and most of the calories comes from deserts or dairy products. So cut the deserts to half or or avoid consuming such food till you reach your goal.
